Summer 2021 Appeal for People in Crisis
We would usually be in a quiet ‘off-peak’ season over the summer but instead, due to unprecedented need, we are currently operating at full capacity from our day centre Unity Park Station (the old bus station), with more than 100 people a week needing our help. We are providing welfare consultations, meals and practical help to homeless and vulnerable people, which we have never had to do before at this scale in the summer months. We have retained staff and volunteers to keep things running in response to the need we are seeing.
Unfortunately this increase in need comes off the back of a year when our community fundraising has been decimated and we ask you to donate at this time if you are in a position to do so. We do not want to have to scale back or turn anyone away who needs our help. THANK YOU for your support.
Regular giving is the most useful form of support and enables us to be there for the homeless beyond the current winter.
One-off gifts are always grateful received, and help us to meet immediate need.
Giving by debit or credit card
You can give a one-off gift or set up a regular donation.
bank transfers and standing orders
If you would like to give by direct bank transfer or standing order please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for our bank account details.
Don’t forget to complete and send us a Gift aid form (click here) if you are a UK taxpayer to enable us to claim back tax, increasing the value of your donation. Forms can be returned to our registered address by post (see below) or you can send a digital copy of your signed form to email@example.com.
If you would like to send a cheque please make it payable to ‘Winter Night Shelter Milton Keynes’ and send to our Finance Manager care of our registered office, The Ridgeway Centre, Featherstone Road, Wolverton Mill South, MK12 5TH.
payroll giving through your workplace
Payroll Giving (also known as Give As You Earn or workplace giving) allows you to donate tax efficiently so each £1.00 you give will only cost you 80p (60p if you’re a higher rate tax payer), with the balance being paid by the government. Register via your employer (or ask them to register if they are not already signed up to the scheme) to set up payments to our bank account. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
Thank you for partnering with us to make a difference to the lives of homeless and vulnerable people in Milton Keynes.
